Motorola Flipout Review

Motorola Flipout has an unique and attractive design with decent quality and roomy keyboard which is comfortable to use. But it has a very small display which is not sufficient for a touch-screen smart phone. The speaker phone is shrill and it has unreliable 3G connection. Also the camera quality is not very good. The phone has an eye-catching design which is very different from other smart phones.

You can get the phone for 79.99 dollars with a 2-year contract and alternatively the unlocked version for an affordable price of 379.99 dollars. The smart phone runs on Android 2.1 operating system and has usual Android apps. But its very small display makes it difficult to use for multimedia and web surfing.

The phone is quite compact and has dimensions of 2.64×2.65×0.67 inches and weighs 3.8 ounces. The phone has sturdy design with swivel mechanism. The resolution of the display is 320×280 pixels with photos and graphs looking fuzzy. It has 7 home screens and all the screens are big enough only to hold few widgets, folders and icons. The phone has a power button and 3.5mm headphone jack on its right spine while micro USB charging port is present at the bottom. You can find the camera lens along with vanity mirror at the rear side. For accessing the memory card slot, you must remove the battery cover. The main keyboard of Flipout is very spacious with nicely spaced keys which are comfortable to use. There are 4 rows of buttons and domed keys give you an accurate and faster typing experience. The space bar, control and return keys have nice design. But the virtual keyboard is very small and difficult to use. This midrange Android phone has al useful applications including Google Talk, Google maps, GPS navigation, YouTube, stereo Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, MS Quick Office, File manager etc.

The web experience is very bad due to small display. The 3.1 megapixel has good editing options, digital zoom and other features but lacks a flash.  There is an internal memory of 512 MB and you also get a free 2GB micro SD card along with the package. The photo quality is not that great with this device.

The Flipout has 512MB of internal memory and comes with a 2GB microSD card in the box. The media player is good which is commonly used by Android customers. The voice signals are very clear and it has decent call quality. It has talk time of 5.95 hours for 3G calling and with 4G calling, the talk time reduce to 4.58 hours. The standby time is 15.71 days for 2G usage. Overall, Flipout is a midrange android smart phone with decent feature set.
