iPad4 iPad to Dominate Tablet Market Through 2012, iSuppli Says

Since iPad has something interesting for people to hold on to, many manufacturer’s are taking a plunge to remove Apple’s domination from iPad market. High end technology resources are being put to use in order to get a high performance Tablet to compete with Apple’s iPad. Rhoda Alexander who directs monitor research at iSuppli seems to opine that these manufacturing companies will take longer durations to first bring their high end products in the market and it might take more time to offer required software to these and in establishing their company for supply and service operations, giving competition to Apple will take a back seat.

Observations done by iSuppli for iPhone market variations reveal that many new products like Google G1, Palm Pre came to rival the iPhone. But the duration it took them to offer device comparable to iPhone was a three long years. After three laborious years, came a Motorola Droid and HTC EVO 4G. One can say for sure that Tablet is not a big rival to iPad. Dell which released its new version tablet has a small screen of about 5”. It resembles a smart phone than a tablet. HP is also confirming its plans to bring out a tablet based on Web-OS. LG also has plans to start working on Tablet using Android OS. HTC and Google are also into developing Chrome OS-based and Android Tablets.

Alexander feels that these companies are not any immediate threat for iPad market. Equaling the performance of an Apple iPad is very hard to achieve with integration of hardware, software and also applications for the device. So, rivaling Apple is a far fetched reality. But Alexander does not rule out a best device from HP, though Samsung and Research in Motion are also preparing to launch pads for tablets with Galaxy Tab and BlackPad Tablet. According to him, HP cannot give a complete product until next year. He opines that rivals will have to produce an application store as huge as Apple Application Store. This is a herculean task for many of the manufacturing companies. If reports from Forrester are to be believed, a mere 14 percent of 27 million populace will want to purchase tablet by next year. This is important news to Apple’s competitors.
