In My Pantry

In My Pantry Application from developer Point & Code is a productivity app which will make you a skilled grocery shopper. So having an iPod touch or iPhone at your reach ensures that you will never run low on your grocery items.

After launching it, you can see the home screen partitioned to show a fridge and freezer. Just tap on any of them, and select from nearly three hundred ‘blueprints’ or profiles of food items, and you can stock them. In My Pantry App doesn’t show every possible item, so you can make your won blueprints and customize them to a label color, or just take a photo on the iPhone.

At first glance, it looks as if refrigeration alone is available as a storage option. However, below the settings tab, you can make drawers for dry items such as pasta and even for other things like cleaning items. You can make your shopping list from here. In My Pantry App will automatically sort them according to grocery aisle. After you return home with your purchases, you will arrange your actual groceries, and also check your list in the app, to arrange them in the virtual kitchen as well.

You need to spend enough time and energy to maintain this organizational method. I doubt whether I will be alert enough to stock this mobile or virtual kitchen, and keep opening In My Pantry App to up date with every item that is over.

You may prefer to skip that particular feature and maintain updates in the shopping list alone, but you still have to remember if you are running low on any item. So instead of applying your memory to track your refrigerator stock, you will have to use your brain to track updates in the App.

In My Pantry App is an overseas productivity app containing regional blueprints as well. Therefore U.S. users should not be annoyed by items such as cress, Cheshire and four different ‘crisps’ which mean leafy vegetable, crumbly white cheese and potato chips respectively. Unwanted blueprints can be deleted too.

The price of 6 dollars is high for a general app, but is in line with the productivity apps. Anyhow, In My Pantry App is a powerful one provided your energy spent in updating the app is less than your time spent for writing down grocery lists.
