GameStop now Accepts In-Store Nintendo 3DS Preorders

For the many gamers looking forward to the new Nintendo 3DS, which is scheduled for release next year, good news has come from GameStop who now accepts in-store preorders for the Nintendo 3DS. Despite this, Nintendo has yet to announce an exact release date and price for the device.

GameStop stores started accepting pre-orders on Sunday, but online pre-orders are not available as yet. A spokesperson said that they will accept pre-orders, but still do not know the exact price, colors or even when the device will be released. Customers will be required to put down a minimum of $50 in order to reserve the game system.

Back in September Nintendo announced that the device will launch on Feb. 26 in Japan, with a release date scheduled for March in the US. More information is expected to be unveiled by Nintendo on a January 2011 press conference on the device.

Nintendo unveiled the 3DS at this year’s E3 gaming conference. It was announced that the device will include the ability to view 3D images without the use of 3D glasses. The 3D effect will be adjustable via a 3D depth slider, which will enable users to view images in 2D. Two exterior cameras will allow users to take and view 3D images. The device will also consist of an interior camera.

Now, we don’t know if you will be willing to part with $50 long before the device is launched, even worse that fact that no release date have been announced!
