Dell Streak Unofficialy Gets an Android 2.2 Froyo Update

The Dell Streak, a tablet device with a 5-inch screen launched some time back now has an Android 2.2 Froyo to support the device, though from an unofficial source. This would surely be good news for consumers in the United States who purchased this device and have always wanted to upgrade from the version 1.6 of the Android operating system.

Until now, users of this “versatile 5-inch Android tablet”, as the manufacturers like to call it were unable to get newer versions of the software on their Dell Streak, even though overseas users benefited from the release of the Android 2.1. Dell had however promised consumers within the United States an upgrade to Android 2.2 some time later this year, though they have not specified any exact date.
