CTO of Best Buy and the founder of Geek Squad, Robert Stephens, irked the interest of experts by tweeting those pictures of Best Buy’s Rocket fish tablet.  People allover the world are eagerly waiting for this device as Best Buy is an in-house brand of many accessories and surely a tablet PC from this brand will be pretty interesting and exciting for all those gadget lovers.

This new device from Best Buy may have some similarities with HP Slate device. It resembles Slate superficially, atleast.  The design and ports appear to be same in both devices. It may be a deceitful way of HP in testing the market. HP Slate was said to be a business device but no news was out regarding the HP-built, Rocket fish-branded tablet. So if there is any failure in the device, users will blame Best Buy and not HP.

This tablet, similar to Slate, runs Windows 7 Operating System. HP has got Palm for the webOS but many doubt whether HP will really give its webOS for another company’s device. Rocket fish brand of Best Buy sells rebranded goods as low-cost alternatives to many branded products. The device resembles HP Slate in terms of form factor, size and connectors. It also heard that HP Slate is silently manufacturing this tablet under the name of Best Buy to see how it runs in the market. Again at this point, if HP is releasing the product it has to use Windows 7 or webOS and hence it all seems to be just speculation. Later it was noted by Stevens that the two tablets posted in the pictures are mere form-factor mockups or proto types.  He also added that pictures of tablets are being tweeted by him from many months. He pointed that third party developers and manufactures are utilized by the Best Buy Company to produce rebrands of many devices.

On the whole this new device from Best Buy is creating interest among many people in the market.
